Our HappY Place
The kitchen is our happy place. We both grew up in the kitchen, surrounded by men and women who loved to cook. After 26+ years of marriage, it’s still where we find peace of mind. Feeding each other good, hearty food, catering to each other, and savoring the response we get has truly been the glue in our relationship. We wanted to share that love. We wanted to pass it on.
We’re also used to preparing food for large gatherings. Our close-knit family gathers for every holiday, and no matter where we live in the world, we all return to Chicago to feast together. For us, curating hundreds of satisfying meals isn’t just work, it’s a joy.
Chef Freddie
Freddie makes the best burgers! He’s the guy who’ll light up the grill no matter the weather. With no hesitation, he’s out there, taking such care in every meal that it always turns out amazing. Whenever someone comes over, the first thing we do, after tidying up, of course is start cooking.

For Wanda, it’s all about family, uniting people around food. No matter your beliefs, background, ethnicity, political views, or culture, Wanda believes that good food, made with love, will Make Your Belly Smile! When your belly smiles, you smile. You feel happy, fulfilled, and satisfied with life. Her motto? “If I don’t do anything else for you, I’ll feed you!”
